An embodied approach to creativity…
From a nomadic and multicultural background, I work with the belief that both reality and identity are liminal; the only constant is the embodied experience of both. I collide mediums of sound, movement, writing, and image to seek new expressions of honesty in storytelling.
My creative approach is grounded in understanding movement and developing with playfulness and connection.
About me
My interest in movement-focused storytelling comes from my childhood growing up in Uganda. After moving from the big city of Chicago to the international community in Kampala, theatre and performance were where I found a home for expression and all my creative energy.
I returned to the USA to complete a Bachelors in Theatre, English, and Film Studies from St. Olaf College. During this time I also became interested in music and production exploring audio engineering and event management.
After years of scattered experience in events, yoga, gastronomy (baking!), and theatre production, I returned to my international life and moved to Berlin to focus on devised physical theatre. I received my MFA in 2021 from Arthaus Berlin in association with Rose Bruford College, UK and have been creating work ever since.
With a wide range experience in the arts, I understand creative projects holistically with sensitivity and empathy for all roles involved. I believe in the process of creativity to unite and reform the world and the beauty of performance to inspire and reflect.
